Stern has released its latest pinball machine, and it continues the trend of the world-famous manufacturer jumping between old school classics and modern icons. Over recent months we've had Guardians of the Galaxy followed by Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast. The company then jumped back into the modern era with Deadpool before releasing The Beatles Pinball.

Stern is staying in the 1960s with its latest pinball machine – The Munsters.

The Munsters TV Sitcom

The Munsters was an award-winning television show that ran from 1964 to 1966 and featured characters like Herman Munster, his vampire wife Lily, and Grandpa Munster, a character based on Count Dracula.

It was a favorite television programme during its time, plus it was repeated on TV for many years after the original run ended. There have also been spin-offs and reboots down through the years.

The Munsters Pinball Machine

It's not surprising that Stern chose to develop a pinball machine based on The Munsters. After all, The Addams Family pinball machine is the best-selling of all time.

All the main characters from the TV programme feature on the table. There's even a 3D version of Herman Munster who can catch the ball and send it off in different directions.

The Munsters pinball machine follows Stern's now normal structure, with three models available – Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition. The Premium and Limited Edition models have additional features and come with bigger price tags.

Each of the models has a unique design, but the one that stands out the most is the Premium version. This is because it has a black-and-white table design. Of course, this mimics the TV show, although it’s unusual to see a pinball table where the only color comes from the lights on the targets. For super fans of the original TV show, this is a pretty cool feature.

In terms of the functionality differences between the various versions, the main one is the fact that the Premium and Limited Edition models have a mini playfield that is sunk into the table. It has its own flippers and ramp, plus it features a multiball mode.

If The Munsters is not your thing, we have a fantastic collection of full-size pinball tables you can choose from as an alternative. Browse the range today.
